Hi, I’m Yoakim.
During the day I focus on other work, but in the evenings and on weekends you’ll mostly find me in the basement, where my small workshop lives. That’s where I make lamps, keychains and little figures on the lathe - always in wood, always hand-finished.
What started as curiosity about turning wood has grown into a way to slow down. I love the sound of the chisel on a fresh piece of wood, the smell of freshly planed shavings, and the idea that every piece eventually ends up with someone who sees something in it.
The Japanese lamps started as an experiment with light and calm. I wanted to build something that feels warm and quiet rather than harsh or bright. By testing different woods, rib shapes and paper, I slowly developed a visual style that now returns across several pieces.
Alongside wood I play guitar. The music page on this site is for that - more to come soon.
Got an idea for a piece, a question about an existing one, or just feel like a chat about wood? Drop me a message through the contact page.
